With Optima e-banking and the Optima mobile app, you can make instant fund transfers to partners and suppliers within Greece and abroad (EEA) with optimum security.

When you transact with third-party accounts with whom you have not previously transacted, an additional authentication step may be activated. In this case, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your verified email, in addition to the password already sent to your mobile phone.

All instant fund transfers in euros for amounts up to €100,000, both within Greece and abroad (EEA), are completed in just 10 seconds at the cost of a standard transfer!

In addition, the Verification of Payee feature offers extra protection for euro fund transfers.

You enter the IBAN and:

  • the recipient’s name you expect
  • the business name or VAT number (for companies).

We’ll inform you in real time of the verification result from the account provider.

If there’s no exact match, you can review the recipient’s details and decide whether to proceed with the transaction.

Possible verification outcomes

Below are the possible verification outcomes in detail. If there is no exact match, you have the option to review the recipient’s details and decide whether to give your consent to proceed with the transaction.

Exact match What it means
The bank account holder has been successfully verified.
Partial match What it means
The name you entered does not fully match the bank account holder’s name.

Recommendation
To avoid sending funds to the wrong recipient, we recommend reviewing and confirming the details with the beneficiary.
No match What it means
The verification details you entered do not match the bank account holder’s information.

Recommendation
If you choose to proceed without corrections, the funds may be sent to the wrong person. To avoid errors or potential fraud, we recommend confirming the details with the beneficiary.
Verification error What it means
Verification was not possible. The account may be incorrect, non-existent oor otherwise unverifiable due to a technical issue.

Required documents

To make a fund transfer, make sure that you know the recipient Bank (SWIFT, BIC) and the beneficiary's IBAN.
